CIVIL PARKING ENFORCEMENT
Civil
Parking Enforcement is due to be implemented throughout East Suffolk on
6th April 2020. From that date
parking offences become civil rather than criminal offences.
Framlingham Town
Council has been negotiating with East Suffolk
Council to adapt the latter's district-wide scheme to the specific needs of Framlingham - we particularly need to increase the turnover of cars
parking in Market Hill to make it easier for visitors to access local businesses.
How is Framlingham affected?
- Existing on-road restrictions - yellow lines, time limits - will be more regularly and more stringently enforced.
- The town's three car parks at Fore Street, The Elms and Market Hill will all become pay and display car parks.
- Pay and display machines will be installed at The Elms and Market Hill and the machine in Fore Street will be replaced.
- Enforcement will be through foot patrols operating seven days a week throughout the district and visiting Framlingham at differing times during the week.
- On-street restrictions will be enforced on Sundays where applicable.
Charges Charges will apply Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6pm.
Fore Street and The Elms car
park charges will be:
Up to 2 hours £1
Up to 4 hours £2
All day £4
Season ticket £65
For Market Hill the charge will be £1 for up to 2 hours with no return for the following 2 hours.
All three car parks will have the option of 30 minutes free
parking available through pay and display machines or by using the RingGo app on a smart phone.
